Misfit Mercenaries - Which Direction do we go?

It has been some time since I have sent out a Newsletter to everyone. I think you have all been feeling the way that I have been about Tabula Rasa. I wanted to send out this newsletter to see how things are going and get some feedback on the Clan in general.

I've posted on my blog http://www.fdwsnetworks.com/personal/Home/tabid/111/EntryID/41/Default.aspx my basic thoughts on Tabula Rasa and also posted it as a review on Gamespot. I think I gave it a pretty hard rating but I think I was pretty accurate. Would love to hear your comments on this. Also I have been playing World of Warcraft on Arygos with a few of my friends from the 501st. Did not think I would get into World of Warcraft, but it has a lot of things you can do when you don't feel like doing quests or hunting creatures.

As far as the Clan, a few ideas have been thrown around. We have talked about getting rid of the site entirely which would be a shame, expanding into other games that a few of us play, there is a possiblity of turning this into a World of Warcraft clan page with the people I play and disassociate from Tabula Rasa but I do not think I could do guild leader. With the emotional drain and disappointment Tabula Rasa gave me I'm not exactly sure what to do.

Clan Update

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to send out this message tomorrow but a few things are occuring that are pressing me to post this today. There are many topics to discuss in this email and will also post this to the main page of the site when I get a chance.

The most important thing that we are dealing with right now is the website. Apparently it appears we might be having some database issues and we are looking into this.

Welcoming the new members:
Over the past few weeks since my last newsletter update we have been gaining members on average 3 to 5 a week. This is pretty good considering we are not doing any major active recruiting. We will have to look closer at our recruitment process over the next few days and weeks due to this increase in member requests and make tweaks where needed. If you are up for being a recruitment officer please let us know. Also if you see one of the new members say hello, and drag them on a hunt with you. If you are a new member and have not added yourself to the Members section on the website please remember to do so after we have sorted out the database issues.

New Tabs:
We have added two new Tabs to the menu at the top.

1. My Profile - This will allow you to modify your profile and manage it a little bit easier. This is not your forum profile it is your account profile slightly differnt. Also if you have not done so already please change your display name to your primary character, or characters last name.

2. Events - Events tab is a calendar we have posted that will allow us to post Clan Events or TR Events. When an Event is posted you will also be able to subscribe directly to this event and recieve an email alert. Which leads to our next topic.

Events:
We hope to be able to launch a few events in the next few months that happen on a re-occuring basis. At the moment we have picked Sunday at 8:00 PM for our first event. Swap Meet - We hope to get as many people to come to swap stories, tips, ideas, as well as, armour, equipment, ammo, and paints. We will meet in Wilderness 1 at Twin Pillars Outpost.

Voice Chat:
Many of you know that we have a ventrilo server. Those of you that don't the information is below. If you do not want to chat that is fine you can just sit and listen. Also it will help to have for bigger events in the future. Its a great place to hang out.

Clan Features:
Currently the game is pretty sparce on Clan features. The only thing that I can do in game is basically grant ranks up. Also anyone that does not have one bar next to their name can recruit or invite a member to the clan. We can not even fill out clan information. Hopefully we will have some updates to that soon.

Clan Update

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to send out a newsletter to everyone and let them know of a few updates that we have made to the site and some things to be aware of. Sorry it is a bit of a big one.

Also on our Forum section you will see at the top New Posts, and Users Online. I am usually online on the website but it doesn't show my account cause I'm super admin. Just so you know.

"The Barracks" It is a blog done by or Communications Officer Apollonia, that will communicate information to us about changes to the game, ane press releases or community news that Play NC puts out about Tabula Rasa as well as updates on membership in the clan.

Resigning/Leaving the Clan - I know it is early to talk about this, but if you are leaving the clan to transfer to another one, we will be posting the steps to take to do this. At the moment please go to the Contact Us Page on our website and select "Resignation - Leaving the Clan". We hate to see anyone leave but know that you're here to play a game and have fun so we won't be hostile when it comes you a member moving on, we just would like to know so we can update our web information.

Enfinity and Teao - Your entries on the Member Page have been removed cause they were created by us, if you click add record you should now be able to create them.

Members Page - We're working on re-organizing the page a little bit, and we will be grouping members by Squad. Your Ranks and Squad assignments should be in place, and we hope to have the basic background information for how we selected those on our Structures page.

Ventrillo Server - We have been working on getting a Ventrillo Server, looking at costs and things, if you're interested in helping out by finding a good priced one please let us know in this thread. http://www.misfitmercs.com/Forum/tabid/65/forumid/4/threadid/166/scope/posts/Default.aspx Until then Apollonia has been kind enough to let us use one she has access too.

Our biggest need is for someone to coordinate between the different tabula rasa websites and make sure we are listed for recruiting.

Photoshop Experiance - Looking for someone with Photoshop experiance so that we can have Signatures made of our in game characters that can be used on other forums including our own.

We're Live!!

Well it looks like everything is up and running for Tabula Rasa. Those of us that got the pre-order will be able to get the three day head start. I can't wait to play tonight to progress my character.

A number of us logged in later last night and made our characters and at approximately 8:30 the servers were up and I was able to make my character. If you got my alert you should have been able to also create your characters. I only created one character on Pegasus but I know a few of you created your characters on all the servers.

I have not managed to make it through bootcamp yet, this will be a topic of a video presentation. Hope to see you in game soon and we should have M-M up soon. My chracter name is Ddraig so be on the lookout.

End of Beta Event Information

My impression from the transmissions is that General British, is basically taking the Human Machina and trying to re-engineer them to fight the bane and my guess high command doesn't like this. Either they're working on turning ASF troops into Machina, or enhancing ASF troops with cybernetics. Also it looks like some have been created to blend in as spys and have infultrated high command.

We will also be holding our own event on Friday evening. We're looking to have it around 8:00 EST hopefully you will all be able to make it as I would like to take an end of beta screenshot as well as possibly some video.

New Recruit Training Video

Welcome New Members

Wanted to post to welcome some of our new members to the team.

Membership has jumped in the past few days as we draw closer to launch. To my knowledge everyone that is the clan will be continuing through until release. I'm excited about this prospect and the growth of the clan over the next few weeks.

Be sure and check out the Members Section fo the Website, Say Hello in Clan chats, and add the members to your friends lists.

Server for Launch

Well it is getting close to release of the game and we have to pick a server that we would like to be on.

If you have any preferance please let us know we currently have a post going on in our forum here.

Well, it has been quite some time since I have given thought to the name Misfit Mercenaries. I originally came up with the name in Diablo and it was not until Ultima Online that Misfit Mercenaries actually became a proper guild. Since that time it disbanded but now with the advent of Tabula Rasa with some help from some friends we decided to relaunch Misfit Mercenaries.

A lot of our members are gamers and play all sorts of games from Massively Multiplayer Online, Real Time Strategy, to First Person Shooters. Most of us have work and jobs and do the gaming in our spare time so we know what it is like to have that demand put in place. A few of us like to Role Play and a few of us like to PvP so you will see us doing both quite frequently. You'll also find as you get to know us that we are pretty laid back in our play style and just enjoy our hobby.

If you have any questions or comments please let us know and since this is our first post to the site I'll give you a run down of the various sections.
